In all the old familiar places

Finally saw Dr. Strangelove the other night (thanks Tivo). Goofy, irreverent, and a perfect sendup of military and political stereotypes. Favorite line: “You can’t fight in here! This is the War Room!” Priceless. And I didn’t even realize that the President was also played by Peter Sellars.

[12-year-old] Brianna was accused of downloading more than 1,000 songs from Kazaa, and the RIAA is demanding damages of $150,000 per song. From Charles Moore. Gimme a break. What does the RIAA hope to gain by suing a 12 year old for $1,500,000,000?

Everybody was Kung-log writing

Great Jumping Judas on a Vespa. Kung-log!
I’m a newbie at this blogging thing, and tonight Giles started talking me through the process of managing and posting to thebigthink. Movable Type looks cool, but going through the web interface seems like a series of extra steps. Add to that the fact that the server is at the other end of a slowish connection. I was excited, but hoped that these potential irritants didn’t keep me from keeping the site up to date.

Then Lo and Behold, along comes Kung-Log! Written in the free version of AppleScript Studio, this little gem lets you edit in an elegant program in OS X’s finder. With pulldown menus that make potentially difficult html editing easy for a newbie, plus the ability to gracefully insert photos and iTunes song data. Kung-Log’s authors will be getting that donationware donation from me. Awesome.
