MicroSpank

via yahoonews: The U.S. DOJ may have dropped the ball on Microsoft a few years ago, but those stubborn Limeys have picked it up and run it between the rugby posts. The European Union today announced a record fine against Microsoft of $611,000,000. Yeow. That’ll hurt the pocketbook (unfortunately, it only accounts for a few months of MS profits, but still…). EU regulators also ordered that MS unbundle Windows Media Player within 90 days and took other steps to “change its business model to stop crushing rivals”.
