After thinking about it for over a month. After consulting numerous online suggestion pages, and after doing a test cut, I cut the hole in the router table today for the mounting plate. Beautiful! The hole is EXACTLY sized and there is absolutely NO play once the plate is in. Not even a hair could fit in there. One end of the plate sits about .0005″ above the table but the weight of the router causes the plate to flex down the slightest amount (designed that way) and most of the overage is gone. I’ll attack the lip with some 220 sandpaper and even it out. I’ve also started putting the walnut molding on the edges.
We’re off to San Antonio tomorrow for Barry’s wedding so I won’t get a chance to work on it until Sunday. I figure I have about 3 or 4 good solid days left until it’s done. And Norm built his in 2 days. Sigh.
via Yahoo News: Troubled computer maker Gateway Inc. said it will shutter all of its stores next week, eliminating 2,500 jobs, or nearly 40 percent of its work force.
The company said Thursday that its 188 stores will close April 9 and workers will be dismissed as the store operations wind down by the end of the month.
They’re doomed. Dooooomed. And beleaguered.
