Router Table

Tuesday, April 6th, 2004

Ten hours! Ten hours in the shop today! From 1pm until about 10:30 or so (okay, 9:30, but no breaks for meals or anything… talk about flow!). Got the T-Track installed (7 pieces requiring super-precision) and built the fence. Tomorrow I wire up the electrics, sand, and put the first coat of finish on. I got a chance to use the thing tonight and I couldn’t be more happy with it.
Seriously, give the article on “flow” a read.
Next up: cherry console table for Erin.

Sunrise

Tuesday, April 6th, 2004

Well, I’m watching the light change anyway. It’s raining felines and canines here at 7am (lots of thunder and lightning- my kind of weather), and I’ve been up for about 3 hours. Nice to see the light change, especially since we had the time change and it feels much earlier. People are going off to work and it’s still dark!
*Funny- according to the home automation system, the sun just came up (I know this because my studio lamp just came on). It’s still just as dark and rainy as it was an hour ago. Bring on the big weather!

D’oh!

It’s amazing how versatile some people are. This morning I discovered that the guy who does the voice of Homer Simpson, Dan Castellaneta, also does the voices of Homer Grampa, Barney Gumble, Krusty the Klown, Groundskeeper Willie, Mayor Quimby, Hans Moleman, Sideshow Mel, and others. Click the link for a picture of the real Homer Simpson

Bill Gates is Second Place

Tuesday, April 6th, 2004

According to Yahoo news, Bill Gates has slipped from the worlds richest man to only the second wealthiest in the world. (Sound of world’s smallest violin). Bill only has 47 billion left to his name (above link apparently has it wrong) versus IKEA magnate Ingvar Kamprad’s 53 billion.
Pass the hat for Bill…
